A home for students at Viborg Katedralskole

Viborg Katedralskole's boarding school is a home for young people from all parts of Denmark and the rest of the world. The boarding school is located 50 meters from the upper secondary school, and close to Viborg town centre and the lakes in Viborg. The boarding school has 170 IB and upper secondary school students living with 6 boarding schoolteachers and their families. The college also has a matron, Jutta, who in practice is a reserve mother for the students at the boarding school.

Responsibility, freedom and community

The boarders move away from home when they move into the boarding school. This means that they will experience a higher degree of freedom, but also greater responsibility in the form of washing their own clothes, managing their own bedtime and not least taking care of the few duties they have at the boarding school. Living in the boarding school also means that boarders will be part of a very special community.

During a school year, there are, among other things, a lot of events in the intro weeks, four boarding school parties, series marathons in the cinema, field trips, cake every Tuesday and full weekends of doing things together. There is also a wealth of clubs at the boarding school, which you can read about below

It was love at first sight. The boarding school is one of the best parts of being a student at VK, as it creates a community with space for you to interact socially, focus on your studies and express yourself as an individual.
